How to keep capacity- and production management alive and vital

Working with capacity- and production management is a lot about working with micro team processes within all levels of management (micro, meso and macro). We started this work in 2012 working with small units. We then saw difficulties keeping the sustainability in capacity- and production management alive and vital. The past two years we have taken a bigger step involving the whole division of surgery; both receptions, operating theaters and wards, i.e. the whole patient journey within specialty care. We have worked a lot with sustainability and conditions, building a common picture for all involved of what capacity- and production management is. Standards have been important together with incorporating learning systems and networking. We will give you an overall picture of our methodology, approach and also present two examples from our region. It is about rekindling capacity- and production management.
